Born in New York City on July 6, 1946, the living legend of action movies Sylvester Stallone has been one of the most popular actor over the last 40 years. The movie series of “Rocky”, that started in 1976, earned him worldwide popularity which solidified with the “Rambo” series. Stallone played and created some of the most iconic roles in film history. In 1977, the action hero was nominated for two Academy Awards for “Rocky”, for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor, becoming the third man in history to receive these two nominations for the same film, after Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles. Overall, the movie had ten Academy Awards nominations, including Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay nominations for Stallone. Today he turns 73 and here’s five essential movies of his career.
