Actor and model Josh Holloway turns 50 today
Long before he was James “Sawyer” Ford in the hit television series Lost, Josh Holloway had a successful modeling career that started back in the late 1980’s. Holloway was born in San Jose, California on July 20, 1969. Later in his life he moved to Los Angeles, where he began a successful career as a runway and print model. Some of his work as a model was made for brands including Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein and Donna Karan. One of his first acting experiences came in 1993 through Aerosmith’s music video “Cryin'” where he plays a thief who tries to steal Alicia Silverstone’s purse from a diner, only to be caught and beaten up by her Josh Holloway’s big break came when he was cast as James “Sawyer” Ford in the hit television series “Lost”. Between 2004 and 2010 the show propelled Holloway to celebrity status, but left him with little time to leverage his fame with other roles. After the show ended, Holloway starred in less commercial successful movies and TV shows and also got back to do modeling. In 2005, People magazine named Holloway one of the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World.” and in March 2007, Holloway was selected as the new face for Davidoff’s “Cool Water” fragrance worldwide. His last biggest role was as Will Bowman, a former FBI agent on the TV show “Colony”, cancelled in 2018 after three seasons. Today he turns 50.
