One of the most popular and famous singers and songwriters of the 20th century, Paul Albert Anka was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on July 30, 1941. As a teenager during the 1950’s he had a string of hit songs including “Diana”, “Put Your Head On My Shoulder”, “Puppy Love” and “You Are My Destiny”, all written by him. During the early 1960’s he was already a established and famous name worldwide, before he was even 20. Anka also wrote music as the theme for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and one of Tom Jones’s biggest hits, “She’s a Lady”, his songs have been sung and covered by several famous artists over the years including Elvis Presley. He also wrote the English lyrics on Claude François and Jacques Revaux’s music “Comme D’Habitude”, for Frank Sinatra’s signature song, “My Way.
