The British Hard Rock band remains one of the strongest and hardest working bands in the business for over 40 years
Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott turns 60 today
Joe Elliott was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire on August 1, 1959. During the late 1970’s with Def Leppard he became one of the notable names of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and throughout the 1980’s the band scored several Hard Rock hits including “Animal”, “Photograph”, “Rock of Ages” and Pour Some Sugar on Me” and massive best selling albums such as the 1987 “Hysteria”. As the 1980’s Hard Rock popularity was slowly being taken by the 1990’s Alternative Rock movement, Def Leppard were one of the few bands that were able to maintain successfully their career, with songs such as the 1992 “Let’s Get Rocked” and “Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad”. Def Leppard are still going strong today despite all the swindles throughout more than four decades, and among their achievements is being one of only five rock bands with two original studio albums selling over 10 million copies in the U.S. and one of the world’s best-selling music artists, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Joe Elliott turns 60 today.
