The Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz turns 55

Born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 1, 1964, The Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz rose to international success in 1994 with “Mr. Jones”, the band’s signature song which was a global hit. With their album “August and Everything After” they were still able to profit of the Alternative Rock popularity of the early 1990’s which would cool down by the mid 1990’s, and in 1996 with the album “The Satellites” they peaked to No.1 at the US Album Chart. As a songwriter, Duritz with the Counting Crows earned an Academy Award nomination in 20047 for the song ‘Accidentally in Love’, which was included in the film “Shrek 2”. Throughout the years Duritz also has formed other side projects apart from the Counting Crows, but worldwide he remains mostly remembered by the 1994 hit “Mr.Jones”. Today he turns 55.
