Great Scott! Christopher Lloyd turns 81
Christopher Lloyd is one of the most popular faces in the big screen for over 40 years, much due to his iconic role of Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown in the “Back to the Future” trilogy, the character he’s still most associated with. Born on October 22, 1938 in Stamford, Connecticut, Lloyd’s professional acting career started back in the 1960’s in Northeastern theater productions, where he stood until the early 1970’s, earning several awards including Drama Desk and Obie. His film debut didn’t happened until 1975, in the acclaimed “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” along Jack Nicholson. From there, he gained a quick reputation as a respected actor, and during the next few years played Jim Ignatowski in the comedy series “Taxi”, that earned him two Emmy Awards. During the early 1980’s he also starred in “Star Trek III: The Search for Spock”, but it was in 1985, that Lloyd’s popularity sky rocketed worldwide when he played the memorable Doc Brown in “Back to the Future”. Alongside Michael J. Fox, the pair became the most iconic characters in the movie trilogy. His prolific career also includes roles in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” in 1988, and the 1991 “The Adams Family” and it’s sequel as Uncle Feister. Also during the 90’s he had roles in “Dennis the Menace” and “The Pagemaster” among many others, including several voice roles for animation movies such as “Anastacia” and “DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp” and countless TV appearances. Christopher Lloyd keeps working prolifically to this day, over the two last decades he has starred in movies such as “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” in 2014 and his latest released movies are “Boundaries”, “Making a Killing” and “ReRun” all from 2018. He also has several upcoming movies which are in post production or filming. Today he turns 81 in great shape.
