Bryan Adams turns 60 today

He is one of the best selling Rock artists of all time, with a career that has spanned now for over 40 years, Adams songwriting formula of catchy Rock and Power Pop songs earned him a continuous place in the charts since the 1980’s. Bryan Guy Adams was born on November 5th 1959 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, he spent his childhood in Portugal and Austria due to his father’s post as a diplomat. During the late 1970’s Adams started to play in the Vancouver local music circuit and released his first album, self titled “Bryan Adams”,  in 1980 where he scored his first hit “Lonely Nights”. His second album “Cuts Like A Knife” was released in 1983 and peaked to No. 8 on the Hot 200. Adams established himself as one of the biggest rock singers and composers in the 1980’s when he released the acclaimed album “Reckless” in 1984, the album featured an impressive string of hit songs including “Summer Of 69”, “Somebody”, “Run To You”, “Heaven” and a duet with Tina Turner “It’s Only Love”. “Reckless” was his first album reaching No.1 on the Hot 100. During the rest of the 1980’s Bryan Adams continued to enjoy a successful career and released more hit songs such as “In The Heat Of The Night” or “Christmas Time”. During the 1990’s Adams career continued to rise, in 1991 he released the double album “Waking Up The Neighbors” that again scored several hits for him including “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” which was part of the soundtrack of the movie “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” ,”Can’t Stop This Thing We Started”, “Do I Have to Say the Words?” and “Thought I’d Died and Gone to Heaven”. This was Bryan Adams second most successful album, it won many awards including a Grammy Award in 1991 for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television. In 1993, Adams collaborated with Rod Stewart and Sting for the single “All for Love” co-written by Adams for the Motion Picture Soundtrack of the movie Three Musketeers. The single topped the charts worldwide.



In November 1993, Adams released a compilation album entitled “So Far So Good”, that again topped the charts in numerous countries and scored more hits including the ballad “Please Forgive Me” which It was followed in 1995 by “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?”. In December 1997, Adams released “MTV Unplugged” with three new tracks: “Back to You”, “A Little Love” and “When You Love Someone”. “Back to You” was the first single, followed by “I’m Ready”, an acoustic version of the “Cut’s Like A Knife” track. His impressive string of hit singles never stopped and Bryan Adams continues to enjoy a successful career that barely has had any low moments. Aside of music, Adams also has a career as a photographer, On 16 September 2015, he was given an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society in London for his work in photography. Adams has been published in British Vogue, L’uomo Vogue, American Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, British GQ, Esquire, Interview magazine and i-D and shot advertising and PR campaigns for Hugo Boss, Guess Jeans, Sand, Converse, Montblanc, John Richmond, Fred Perry, Escada, Gaastra, Zeiss, Joop, Zeiss AG, Schwarzkopf, Ermenegildo Zegna, AGL shoes and Jaguar and OPEL cars. He has also worked as a photographer with many of his musical peers. His latest studio album was “Get Up”, released in 2015.
