35 Amazing Naomi Campbell Photographs
Born in London, England on May 22, 1970, supermodel Naomi Campbell rose to global fame during the late 1980’s throughout the 1990’s as one of the six most influential top models of the new generation. Despite being faced with racial discrimination during the early years of her career, Naomi’s looks conquered the most acclaimed fashion designers in the world and her fellow top models including Linda Evangelista, who threatened to boycott several magazine publications and model agencies if Naomi was favored over a white woman. She walked the catwalk for such designers as Gianni Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Isaac Mizrahi, John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Chanel among many others and endless photo shootings and advertisement campaigns. In 1987, at 17, Naomi was the first black model to appear on the cover of British Vogue magazine since 1966, she was also the first ever black model to appear on the cover of French Vogue magazine and the same for the September issue of American Vogue magazine, traditionally the most important one of the year. Naomi Campbell is one of the last models left of the 1990’s supermodel generation that still works actively as a model. At 50, she doesn’t plans to stop anytime soon.
