On October 2nd, 1960 Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs made history in music when their Doo-Wop song “Stay”, written by Maurice Williams, reached No.1 on the Hot 100. “Stay” it’s to this day the shortest song to reach No.1 with a total running time of 01:36. This was the band’s biggest hit, often regarded as a 1960’s classic, had a resurgence in 1987 when it was included on the soundtrack of the movie “Dirty Dancing”. By 1990, it had sold more than 8 million copies.
