Actor Frank Whaley turns 60 today



Frank Whaley’s character Brett on the 1994 Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction”, remains one of the most memorable in the movie, specially his unavoidable death at the hands of Samuel L. Jackson’s and John Travolta’s characters.
He was born on July 20, 1963 in Syracuse, New York, and made his film debut in 1987 with “Ironweed”. Shortly after he appeared on several hit movies including the 1989 “Field of Dreams”, alongside Burt Lancaster and Kevin Costner, also in 1989 Oliver Stone’s “Born on the Fourth of July”, alongside Tom Cruise which begun a long collaboration with director Oliver Stone. In 1991 he worked again with the director on the biopic “The Doors” where he played the role of The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger. In the same year, he also starred on “JFK”, in which he played a conspirator in the JFK assassination. Whaley also appeared on supporting roles in other hit movies of that era including “Hoffa” and “Swing Kids”. Frank Whaley’s movie career hasn’t been limited to acting though, he is also a film director, screenwriter and comedian, keeping a busy and active career both in movies and TV. Today he turns 60.
