Blondie co-founder and guitarist Chris Stein turns 74 today

Chris Stein was born on January 5th, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. He co-founded and played guitar on the New Wave Rock band Blondie. During the 1970’s and early 1980’s, Blondie, fronted by Debbie Harry, achieved global success with their catchy Punk Pop songs such as “Sunday Girl”, written by Stein, and “Heart of Glass”, “Dreaming”, “Island of Lost Souls”, “Rapture”, and “Rip Her to Shreds” all co-written by Stein.



after the band came to an end, Chris begun to dedicate most of his time to photograpy, has taken thousands of images documenting the early New York City punk music scene, the visual allure of Debbie Harry and Blondie, and his collaborations with artistic luminaries including Andy Warhol and H.R. Giger. He is now an acclaimed photographer, and since Blondie’s comeback during the 1990’s, also back to the guitar player position of the band. Chris Stein was inducted to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2006 as a member of Blondie and he turns 74 today.
