Today we celebrate the movies of Burt Reynolds on what would be his 88th birthday. Reynolds was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 11, 1936, and first rose to prominence starring in the television series “Gunsmoke” 1962–1965. Though he has been acting since 1958, he didn’t receive an Oscar nomination until he appeared in “Boogie Nights” in 1997. Reynolds’s highest grossing movies were huge hits at the box office throughout the ’70s and ’80s so he is one of the most recognizable actors of all time. Reynold’s passed away in 2018, at age 82.
