Ray Liotta, one of the most successful actors over almost 40 years has passed at age 67 on May 26, 2022. We remember him here with a glimpse at his life and career that included the iconic role or Henry Hill in Scorsese’s “Goodfellas”

Raymond Allen Liotta was born in Newark, New Jersey, on December 18, 1954, he was adopted at age 6 by the Liotta family growing up in a Roman Catholic household, although his family was not especially religious.
He first came to prominence as the character Joey Perrini on the soap opera Another World, on which he appeared from 1978 to 1981. In 1989, Liotta portrayed the ghost of baseball player Shoeless Joe Jackson in the fantasy/drama film Field of Dreams which brought him worldwide attention, but it was in 1990 with his role as the real-life mobster Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s universally praised and commercially successful Academy Award winning film Goodfellas that he solidified his name as one of the most popular ones in Hollywood.
Throughout the 1990’s he starred in a series of blockbuster movies including Unlawful Entry, No Escape and Cop Land among several others. He continued enjoying great success throughout the 2000’s in films including Hannibal and Blow. In December 2001 and January 2002, provided the voice of Tommy Vercetti for the 2002 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and appeared in the television drama ER in 2004, playing Charlie Metcalf in the episode “Time of Death”. The ER role earned Liotta an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Liotta starred opposite Jennifer Lopez in Shades of Blue between 2016 and 2018, while continuing to work in several other film projects. Liotta was currently cast in Cocaine Bear, a thriller film based on the true story of an American black bear that ingested a duffel bag full of cocaine in 1985. The movie, due in theaters in 2023.
He passed away on May 26 in his sleep at the age of 67 in the Dominican Republic, during the filming of the new movie Dangerous Waters. RIP
