Led Zeppelin original line up of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham play their first concert together billed as The New Yardbirds in an allusion to The Yardbirds where Page and Bonham had previously played. The first concert took place on September 7th, 1968 at the Teen Club, Egegard School in Gladsaxe, Copenhagen, Denmark and it’s attended by 1.200 people, many of whom teenagers that went to that school. As a local review stated back then: “Their performance and their music were absolutely flawless, and the music continued to ring nicely in the ears for some time after the curtains were drawn after their show. We can therefore conclude that the new Yardbirds are at least as good as the old ones were”. Shortly after the band was renamed Led Zeppelin and in 1969, the band that would rule the 70’s, released their successful debut “Led Zeppelin” and their second album “Led Zeppelin II” which of course became the Rock classics we all know.
