Perhaps it is not “stretched” to say that the only man that can lead a crowd of Metalheads into singing along Tom Jones’1968 classic “Delilah” is Bruce Dickinson. The Iron Maiden frontman, who besides being one of the world’s most famous Rockstars is also a writer, an occasional reporter, a commercial airline pilot and oh so many other things, covered the Tom Jones classic during a solo show in Athens, Greece, 2002, and gloriously lead the crowd of Metalheads into singing along to the chorus. Shy at first, the crowd quickly went along with the ride, making this one of the best live music moments ever. Prior to that, Dickinson also had performed the song on British TV in 1997, sharp dressed wearing a bizarre leopard pattern suit and spotting a fancy haircut. But no joke, Dickinson’s operatic and theatrical (powerful) vocals, actually, and oddly, fit perfect into the song. We can always hope for a duet between the two vocal monsters Dickinson and Jones, or why not, Jones covering “Run to the Hills”? Check both performances of “Delilah” by Bruce Dickinson
