The beautiful actress, musician and singer Tia Carrere celebrates 56 today
The beautiful Tia Carrere was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 2, 1967, of Chinese, Filipino and Spanish ancestry. Tia started her acting career during the 1980’s getting her major breakthrough with the role of Jade Soong Chung on the soap opera General Hospital from 1985 to 1987. In 1991 she gets her first big role on the big screen, starring alongside Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson in the acton movie Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. She emerged into the public spotlight when she played Cassandra, a rock singer and girlfriend of the Mike Myer’s character Wayne Campbell in the 1992 hit comedy “Wayne’s World” and it’s 1993 sequel “Wayne’s World 2”. She also appeared in the Arnold Swarchznegger 1994 film “True Lies” and throughout the 1990’s had several roles in other sucessfull movies and TV series.
Most recently, she participated in the fifth season of The Celebrity Apprentice, but her apprenticeship to the show’s boss Donald Trump ended in that season’s fifth week. Aside of acting, Carrere has also engaged into music, and she’s been releasing music of her own since her 1993 debut album “Dream”, which went platinum in the Philippines. Her musical talent was awarded with a Grammy in 2009 for her third album Ikena. Tia Carrere, turning 56 today, also appeared alongside RuPaul on the American comedy television series (also co-created by RuPaul), AJ and the Queen, released on Netflix on January 10, 2020.
