Remembering Laura Branigan



She was one of the 80’s most popular singers, mainly due to her two greatest hits “Gloria” from 1982 and “Self Control” 1984.  Laura Branigan was born on July 3, 19527 in Mount Kisco, Westchester County, New York. The singer had a string of hits during the 1980’s, for “Gloria”, she was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. After her career cooled down in the 90’s she returned in 2002 briefly as a singing actress in the Musical “Love, Janis” where she played Janis Joplin. Branigan passed away from a brain aneurysm on August 26 2004.
