The acclaimed Canadian actor Donald Sutherland turns 88



Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada on July 17, 1935, Donald Sutherland, a prolific actor since the 1960’s is regarded by several media outlets and movie critics as one of the best actors who have never been nominated for an Academy Award, despite in 2017 being granted an Academy Honorary Award for his contributions to cinema. Donald Sutherland has appeared in movies of many different genres, from action to horror, to thrillers and fantasy. Some of his best known roles were in “The Dirty Dozen”, “M*A*S*H”, “Don’t Look Now”, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, “Pride and Prejudice” and “JFK”. In recent years his talent has also been admired by new generations in movies such as “The Hunger Games” series. Sutherland is the father of actor Kiefer Sutherland.
