The late American actor and comedian Robin Williams was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 21, 1952. Williams was one of the most successful and versatile actors over the last 40 years, granting a box-office success in pretty much every movie he starred, either being a comedy or a drama. He started his career in the 1970’s as a comedian and his first big hit was “Mork & Mindy”, and by the 1980’s became one of the most in demand actors in Hollywood, starring in movies such as “Good Morning, Vietnam” or “Dead Poets Society”. During the 1990’s he kept his successful path as an actor in blockbusters such as “Hook”, “Good Will Hunting” or “Jumanji”. Williams was nominated four times for the Academy Awards, winning for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as psychologist Sean Maguire in the 1998 movie “Good Will Hunting”; he also received two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four Grammy Awards.
