Actor Laurence Fishburne turns 62
Born in Augusta, Georgia on July 30, 1961, Fishburne’s signature role and the one he’s instantly recognized remains Morpheus in “The Matrix” trilogy movies but the actor has starred in several popular movies as well as cult movies throughout his career. Fishburne’s first big role in movies was in the 1979 classic “Apocalypse Now”. In 1993 he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for playing the role of Ike Turner in the Tina Turner biopic “What’s Love Got To Do With It”. In recent years Laurence Fishburne has appeared in several action movies including “Predators” and “Mission: Impossible III” and recently in 2017 re-joined Keanu Reeves the neo-noir action thriller film “John Wick: Chapter 2”. On TV he also played important roles on the series “Hannibal” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”. Today the prolific actor turns 62.
