Actor Wayne Knight turns 68
Best known for his character Newman in the 1990’s hit TV sitcom “Seinfeld”, the actor Wayne Knight was born in New York City, New York on August 7, 1955. His acting career started to take shape during the early 1980’s, and towards the end of the decade, Knight was appearing in big Hollywood productions and blockbusters such as “Dirty Dancing” in 1987 and “Born on the Fourth of July” in 1989. It was during the 1990’s though that his popularity spread, initially by appearing in movies such as
“JFK” in 1991 and “Basic Instinct” in 1992, where he played one of the characters in the famous Sharon Stone’s interrogation scene, in “Jurassic Park” as Dennis Nedry in 1993, that earned him a nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor, but mostly, by becoming a regular in “Seinfeld” between 1992 and 1998 playing the character Newman. Another relevant and popular role Knight played on TV was Officer Don Orville in the series “3rd Rock from the Sun”.
Wayne Knight is one of the most recognizable actors in the big screen, and he also has given voice to several animation movies, including the 1999 “Toy Story 2” and “Tarzan”.
Most recently he starred on the Netflix acclaimed series “Narcos” in 2017 and in the 2018 movie “The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair”. Today he turns 68.
