Born in Sacramento, California on August 9, 1944, the American actor Sam Elliott has been a familiar face in the big screen since the 1960’s when he appeared in the western classic “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”. Initially, the actor became popular by portraying gruff cowboy characters in various Western films and series, but throughout the years, he has proven his versatility, by appearing in several blockbusters and acclaimed movies, which include “Raging Bull”, “The Thing”, “Mask”, “The Doors”, “The Big Lebowski”, “Hulk”, “Ghost Rider” and more recently in the 2018 remake of “A Star is Born” which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Also on TV, Sam Elliott has been a prolific actor since the 1960’s. He was a regular on the 1970/71 season of “Mission: Impossible” and starred in the acclaimed series “Buffalo Girls” in 995. Overall, during his career he has achieved nearly 100 credits in both film and television. Today Sam Elliott turns 79.
