On the 26 August 1995 Blur gets their first U.K number 1 with “Country House”

Blur ruled as one of Britpop’s favorite bands during the 90’s. Formed in 1988,  they first achieved stardom with the smash hit “Girls & Boys” in 1994  but wasn’t until 1995 that they had their first number one in the U.K, with “Country House” from the successful album “The Great Escape” that featured some of their best songs such as “Stereotypes”, “Charmless Man” and “The Universal”. Check the official video for “Country House”.
