Canadian actor Jason Priestley turns 54



Jason Priestley became worldwide famous during the early 1990’s when he played the role of Brandon Walsh on the hit TV series “Beverly Hills, 90210”. The actor was born on August 28, 1969 in Vancouver, Canada and started his career in the late 1970’s, his first movie was “Stacey” in 1978. During the 1980’s Priestly appeared in several TV commercials and starred on some of the most popular 1980’s TV shows in minor roles or appearances, including “MacGyver”, “Quantum Leap” and in two episodes of “21 Jump Street”. The Canadian star had his first big role when he was cast to play the teenager Brandon Walsh on “Beverly Hills, 90210” in 1990. The show garnered worldwide fame and made Priestley a teen idol for the first half of the 1990’s. He also was nominated for two Golden Globes for his work on the show. In 1998 Priestly left “Beverly Hills, 90210” as an actor, but continued to serve as an executive producer until the show ended in 2000. In between he did several TV films, movies and starred on other TV Series, however, not with the same visibility as he had on “Beverly Hills, 90210”. In 1992 he also starred on the Roy Orbison’s music video “I Drover All Night”, solidifying his teen idol image. Aside of his career as an actor he’s very passionate about hockey and race car driving. He started to professionally compete as a race pilot back in the 1990’s and was among the owners of the FAZZT Race Team, which competed in the IndyCar Series in 2010 with Canadian racer Alex Tagliani. In recent years, Priestly starred (with a lead role) on the TV Series “Raising Expectations” in 2016, and “Private Eyes”.
