Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on August 28, 1965, Shania Twain remains one of the most successful female singers of all time and the best selling artist to have come from Country music. Twain started her successful career as a country artist, but unexpectedly, the Canadian singer rose to fame with her second studio album, “The Woman in Me” in 1995 which 20 million copies worldwide, earning her, her first Grammy Award. But in 1997, her popularity skyrocketed with the album “Come On Over”, the best-selling studio of all time by a female singer in any genre with 40 million copies sold worldwide. The album featured the smash hits “You’re Still the One”, “From This Moment On” and one of the 1990’s most memorable hits “Man! I Feel Like A Woman”. Despite not being a genuine Country album, but closer to Pop, it is still considered the best-selling country album of all time. With “Come On Over”, Shania Twain won four Grammy Awards and a worldwide popularity that lasts to this day. Sadly, Twain had to put her career in a hiatus when in 2004 she was diagnosed with Lyme disease and dysphonia that led to a severely weakened singing voice. 15 years later, in 2017 she released her first album since then, “Now”, and embarked on a Tour in 2018. For her achievements throughout her music career, Shania Twain has overall received five Grammy Awards, 27 BMI Songwriter Awards, stars on Canada’s Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and an induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and also according to the RIAA she is the only female artist in history to have three consecutive albums certified Diamond by the RIAA the sixth best-selling female artist is the United States. Today She turns 58.
