Remembering Dolores O’Riordan
Dolores O’Riordan was born on September 6th, 1971 in Limerick, Ireland.In 1990 she joined the Alternative Rock band The Cranberries. In 1993 the band enjoyed a positive initial wave of success with their debut album “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?” that included the hit songs “Dreams” and “Linger”, in 1994 they released the song “Zombie” that reaches number 1 in several music charts around the world. Considered their signature song, it’s included on their second album “No Need To Argue” released in the same year, it’s their best seller. The Cranberries produced a string of 90’s Rock anthems, Dolores it’s one of the responsible for the band success, her unique voice, sometimes compared to fellow Irish singer Sinead’ O’Connor, timbre and personal charisma helped to attract the likes of Rock fans around the world quickly. In 2003 the members decided to pursue solo projects and careers and during that period Dolores released two solo albums, “Are You Listening?” in 2007 and “No Baggage” in 2009. The band reformed in 2009 continuing their successful path until 2018. On 15 January 2018, at the age of 46, Dolores O’Riordan passed away suddenly while in London for a recording session. Dolores died as a result of accidental drowning in a bathtub due to alcohol intoxication, following sedation by prescription drugs and alcohol.
