The song, which was banned by some U.S radio stations due to what was considered suggestive lyrics at the time, was the first No.1 for the popular duo, “Wake Up Little Susie” was written by the famed country-pop songwriting duoFelice and Boudleaux Bryant that among other songs also wrote “Love Hurts”, “All I Have to Do Is Dream” and “Bye Bye Love.”
