The Four Tops signature song “Reach Out And I’ll Be There” reaches No.1 on the Hot 100 in 1966
One of Motown’s favorites, The Four Tops, reached for the second time No.1 on the U.S Hot 100 on October 15th, 1966 with “Reach Out And I’ll Be There”, despite the many hits the band had, it remains their signature song. Written and produced by Motown’s main production team, Holland–Dozier–Holland, the song has been covered extensively throughout the years, but the original it’s still unbeatable, the groovy sonority blend with soul and the distinctive intro and drum beat, place “Reach Out I’ll Be There” among one of the most popular songs of all time and a 1960’s classic, The Four Tops also scored hits with songs such as “Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever”, “Bernadette”, “Standing in the Shadows of Love” and in the 1980’s with “Loco In Acapulco”.
