In 1984 Paul McCartney climbs to No.1 with his soundtrack album “Give My Regards To Broad Street”
Released in 1984, Paul McCartney’s movie “Give My Regards To Broad Street” was the attempt of the former Beatle to bring back the same feeling as The Beatles movies during the 1960’s, however, despite featuring George Martin and Ringo Starr, it was a far cry from “Help!” or “A Hard Day’s Night”. The movie keeps you entertained though, with several musical sections that included some Beatles songs such as “Eleanor Rigby” or “Good Day Sunshine” performed solo by McCartney while on a 24 hour hunt for the missing master-tapes of his new album. The soundtrack to the movie did better than the movie itself and produced one of McCartney’s most memorable solo hits “No More Lonely Nights” that climbed to No.2 on the singles charts. On November 3rd 1984 the album went No. 1 on the UK charts.
