Together with Agnetha, Frida completed the ABBA vocal duo that offered the world memorable Pop hits that last to this days. Frida Lyngstad was born Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad on November 15th, 1945 in Bjørkåsen, a small village in Ballangen near Narvik, in northern Norway. In 1947 she moved to Sweden and first started to sing during the late 1950’s, still a teenager. In 1967 Frida won the Swedish national talent competition, “New Faces” and after a mild successful start during the late 1960’s her first album, “Frida”, produced by her then-fiancé Benny Andersson, was released in 1971 where All four future members of ABBA sang back-up vocals on this song. Around that period ABBA was formed officially, first known as Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid. ABBA came to prominence in 1974 when they won the Eurovision song contest with the song “Waterloo”, after it, their fame spread quickly worldwide, becoming the hit and record sales champions of the second half of the 1970’s producing several No.1 hits worldwide and successful Pop songs such as “I Have a Dream”, “Dancing Queen”, “Money, Money, Money”, “Super Trouper”, “Knowing Me, Knowing You”, “Voulez-Vous”, “Fernando” and “Take A Chance On Me” among many others. After ABBA broke up in 1983 and she divorced husband Benny Anderson, Frida went on to try a solo career however didn’t proved to be as strong and successful as with ABBA. In 1982, Lyngstad left Sweden and moved to London. In 1992 she married the Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss, Count of Plauen and lived in his family castle in Fribourg, Switzerland. Frida is a German princess by marriage to Heinrich Reuss who passed away in 1999. Frida clearly always enjoyed the spotlight more than the other three members of ABBA. She liked to tour and to meet audience members one-to-one. She took an active part in co-designing the famed ABBA costumes for their tours and TV performances. Since the members of ABBA went their separate ways, Lyngstad has been the only one who openly regrets there has never been a reunion to date. Recently the legendary band got back together with a new album and live concerts featuring their holographic avatars.
