Billy Idol peaked to No. 1 on the U.S Hot 100 on November 21st, 1987 with his “Mony Mony”, a cover of 1960’s rocker Tommy James. Curiosly, at the time, teen pop sensation Tiffany had been at No.1 with also another Tommy James song, “I Think We’re Alone Now” and was knocked off the top by “Mony Mony”. Billy Idol had a string of hit songs during the 1980’s including “White Wedding”, “Rebel Yell”, “Flesh For Fantasy”, “Eyes Without A Face”, “Catch My Fall” and “Hot In The City” among many others.
