The Sex Pistols brings the Punk to the masses when they appeared on British TV twice on the same day in 1976

On November 28th, 1976, the Punk Rock machine was gaining speed at full steam. Just two days after the release of the Sex Pistols debut single “Anarchy In The U.K”, the band was featured on two British channels, BBC’s “Nationwide” where they performed “Anarchy In The U.K” with their fan base and followers on the set, a rare glimpse of Sid Vicious as a fan,  can be seen as he stays behind bass player Glenn Matlock in dark shades and appears on further footage. Also Johnny Rotten and Malcolm Mclaren were interviewed for the show. The other TV show was “London Weekend” on ITV, the band was featured in a documentary about the emerging scene of Punk that includes live footage and early interviews with the Pistols. Those two TV Shows were of extreme importance to the success of the Sex Pistols as it introduced them to a wider audience in England that joined the Punk movement after listening to the interviews and watch the performances.
