Former Victoria’s Secret Angel, Helena Christensen was once considered the most beautiful and sexiest woman in the world. The Danish-Peruvian Top Model that was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on December 25, 1968, began her career as Winning the Miss Universe Denmark crown in 1986 at the age of 17, and subsequently representing Denmark in the Miss Universe 1986 pageant. Soon after that she left to Paris to pursue a professional modeling career. During the 1990’s, when the world’s leading supermodels became also Pop icons, Christensen appeared on the popular 1990 music video “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak. The music video solidified her image as an icon of beauty, and also during that period, while appearing in Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and W, and in fashion campaigns including Revlon, Chanel, Versace, Lanvin, Prada, Sonia Rykiel, Hermes, Valentino and Karl Lagerfeld, the model begun dating the INXS frontman Michael Hutchenche, a relationship that lasted five years, until Hutchence began dating the former wife of Bob Geldof, Paula Yates, a romance that ended in tragedy for both as it is known. Helena is part of the supermodel group named “The Magnificent Seven”, that also include Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Elle Macpherso, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell. And to this day she hasn’t fully retired, continuing to modeling and gracing the covers of magazines such as Vogue Italia (2016), Portuguese Vogue (2016), British Tatler (2018) and French Elle (2018). After her relationship with Michael Hutchence ended, she met the American actor Norman Reedus (Daryl in “The Walking Dead”) with whom she had a child and was together for five years. Today aside of modeling, Helena also is a photographer, and some of her work, has been praised by critics. Turning 55 today, Helena Christensen still remains one of the most beautiful women in the world.
