Mamie Van Doren was born Joan Lucille Olander on February 6, 1931, in Rowena, South Dakota. She is an actress, known for “The Navy vs. the Night Monsters” (1966), “Teacher’s Pet” (1958) and “Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women” (1968). She is a sex symbol who is known for being one of the first actresses to recreate the look of Marilyn Monroe. Mamie Van Doren was discovered by producer Howard Hughes when she was crowned Miss Palm Springs. The pair dated for several years. Hughes launched her career by placing her in several RKO films. She has been married to Thomas Dixon since June 26, 1979. She was previously married to Ross McClintock, Lee Meyers, Ray Anthony and Jack Newman.
