The 10 Best Guns N’ Roses music videos on the day Axl Rose turns 62
Axl Rose (anagram for “oral sex”) was born William Bruce Rose Jr.(raised as William Bruce Bailey) on February 6, 1962 in Lafayette, Indiana. Some of Axl’s main and early influences in music were Queen and Elton John, he moved in the early 1980’s to Los Angeles, where he became active in the local hard rock scene and joined several bands, including Hollywood Rose and L.A. Guns. In 1985, he co-founded the legendary Guns N’ Roses. The controversial rocker is also one of the most influential singers of all time, reaching the pinnacle of his success (and controversy) during the infamous 1991-1993 Guns N’ Roses “Use Your Illusion” World Tour. After years of internal feud among the original members of the band, Axl has now made peace with guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan and they’re again touring as Guns N’ Roses since 2017, in what became one of Rock’s greatest comebacks. He also did the lead vocals for AC/DC’s latest tour replacing Brian Johnson and has been rumors he’ll become a full member of the band. During the 1990’s, Axl Rose controversial behavior earned him a bad reputation even among other fellow Rock musicians, most famously, the Nirvana feud that during the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards reached a boiling point. Today, two decades after those events, Axl has also made peace with former Nirvana members, specially Dave Grohl, who lend him his “throne” used on the Foo Fighters shows when he broke his leg. Axl used the “throne” during the beginning of the Guns N’ Roses “Not In This Lifetime Tour” in 2017 after twisting his ankle. To celebrate the 62nd birthday of one of the most influential Rockers of the last 40 years, we made a list of Guns N’ Roses 10 Best music videos.
