In 1989 Jason Donovan hits the UK singles charts No.1 with the Stock, Aitken and Waterman “Too Many Broken Hearts”

Written and produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman hitmakers team (that also produced hit songs such as Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”, “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” by Dead or Alive) and “I Should Be So Lucky” by Kylie Minogue) “Too Many Broken Hearts” was Australian singer/actor Jason Donovan first No.1 single in the UK. The song failed to reach the U.S market the same way it did in Europe where it was a big hit. Jason Donovan, originally an actor at the Australian soap opera “Neighbours” where he co-starred with Kylie Minogue during the 1980’s, had several hit songs in Europe and Australia during the late 1980’s, including his duet with Kylie Minogue “Especially For You”, “Every Day (I Love You More)” and his cover of the 1960’s song “Sealed With A Kiss”.
