As the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the band U2, Bono Vox, born Paul David Hewson on May 10, 1960, in Dublin, Ireland, cemented his status as a legendary figure in the world of rock music. Formed in 1976, U2 quickly rose to prominence in the 1980s with their anthemic songs and dynamic live performances. Bono’s charismatic stage presence and ability to connect with audiences propelled the band to international stardom.
