Born on May 17, 1968, in Stamford, Connecticut, Dave Abbruzzese remains best known as the powerhouse drummer for one of the most influential bands of the 1990s, Pearl Jam, during their early years. In 1991 he joined Pearl Jam, replacing original drummer Dave Krusen, just before the release of their iconic debut album, “Ten,” which propelled Pearl Jam to global stardom. His energetic drumming style became a defining element of the band’s sound, contributing to the energy of of hits like “Animal” and “Rear View Mirror,” providing a solid backbone to the band’s second album “Vs.” However, despite his contributions, both on studio and live, to the group’s success, Abbruzzese parted ways with Pearl Jam in 1994.
