The distinguished English actor Joseph Fiennes was born on May 27, 1970, in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. He grew up in an artistic family, with his older brother Ralph Fiennes also achieving fame as an actor. Joseph Fiennes’ early education included a stint at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he honed his acting skills.
Fiennes began his acting career on the stage, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company. His transition to film and television was marked by his breakthrough role in the romantic drama “Shakespeare in Love” (1998), where he played the titular role of William Shakespeare. Joseph Fiennes remains an active and prominent figure in the acting world. One of his most significant recent roles is that of Commander Fred Waterford in the critically acclaimed television series “The Handmaid’s Tale” (2017-present).
