The daughter of legendary actor Jon Voight and actress and humanitarian Marcheline Bertrand, Angelina Jolie was born in Los Angeles, California on June 4, 1975. Despite her Hollywood family, Jolie built a name for herself as an actress, to the extent that even today some people don’t associate her with the father Jon Voight. Since the 1990’s she has starred in several successful and popular movies and won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 1999 drama “Girl, Interrupted”. Aside of her very public romantic life and her work as an actress, Jolie is also a humanitarian, working as a Special Envoy to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Today Angelina Jolie turns 49, and instead of talking about her controversial divorces with Billy Bob Thornton or more recently Brad Pitt, here’s five of her best movie performances to celebrate her birthday.
