Renowned for his work as a bassist with the influential psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company, Peter Albin was born on June 6, 1944, in San Francisco, California. Albin’s career spans several decades, marked by significant contributions to the rock and blues genres.

He initially learned to play the guitar and was deeply influenced by the burgeoning folk music scene of the early 1960s.
