Bryan Adams peaks to No.1 on the Hot 100 with “Heaven” in 1985

Inspired by Journey’s hit “Faithfully”, “Heaven” was written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, the song uses Adams successful commercial Rock formula that he used throughout the 1980’s. Though it was recorded in 1983, it was first released as a single in 1985, and featured on his best selling album “Reckless” in 1984. The song first appeared on the soundtrack to the 1983 film, “A Night in Heaven” and wasn’t intended to be released as a single or even featured on “Reckless”, but a last minute decision made Adams including on the line up of the album, which proved to be a good decision. The single went No.1 on the US Hot 100 on June 22, 1985. Between 1984 and 1985 Adams had an impressive string of Rock hits that included “Summer Of 69”, “Run To You”, “Somebody”, “One Night Love Affair”, “It’s Only Love”, “Diana” and the Christmas song “Christmas Time”. His success expanded throughout the rest of the 1980’s decade, the 1990’s and to this present day, despite today having distanced himself from his early songwriting formula of the 1980’s. Today he splits his music career with photography.
