Steve Shelley was born on June 23, 1962, in Midland, Michigan. Growing up in a small town, Shelley developed an early interest in music, particularly in the dynamic and expressive potential of drums. His passion for rhythm and beats led him to explore various genres, from rock to jazz, shaping his versatile drumming style.
Shelley’s professional career began in the early 1980s when he joined the punk band The Crucifucks. This experience provided him with a platform to hone his skills and gain recognition within the underground music scene. He co-founded the record label Vampire Blues, focusing on releasing unique and independent music.
