1980’s British boy band Bros score their only UK No.1 in 1988 with “I Owe You Nothing”

Written by Nicky Graham and Tom Watkins and produced by Watkins,”I Owe You Nothing” by the 1980’s British boy band Bros, was first released in 1987, but it wasn’t until the band gained popularity across Europe in 1988 that became a hit following the success of their breakthrough single “When Will I Be Famous?”. Despite the string of Pop hits the band had during the late 1980’s, “I Owe You Nothing” became their only No.1 in the UK singles charts, peaking to that position on June 26, 1988. Originally a three-piece band featuring twin brothers Luke and Matt Goss and Craig Logan, the young boy band became popular around Europe and a few other countries around the world such as Australia and South Africa, between 1988 and 1990. Their debut album “Push”, released in 1988, featured a string of hit singles for them that included “When Will I Be Famous?”, “Drop The Boy”, “I Owe You Nothing” and “Cat Among the Pigeons”. But with a quick rise to success, came a quick descend too, and by the early 1990’s, the band already had became something of the past. They officially disbanded in 1992. All tough Bros never broke through in the US but did make #10 on the Billboard dance chart.
