Dan Aykroyd, born Daniel Edward Aykroyd in Ottawa, Canada on July 1, 1952. Aykroyd starred on some of the biggest blockbusters of all time including “Ghostbusters” part I and II, which he also created. He first became famous as a one of the resident comedians of the TV show Saturday Night Live between 1975-1979 as part of the comedy duo Blues Brothers alongside John Belushi. During the 1980’s Aykroyd reached the peak of his Hollywood popularity, mainly in comedy roles but during the 1990’s he also became increasingly a Drama actor, starring on movies such as “Pearl Harbor”. In 1990, Dan Aykroyd was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in the 1989 film “Driving Miss Daisy”, which marked the turning point in his acting career.During the 2000’s Aykroyd has been focusing on other activities, leaving acting to second plan. He has ventured into several business activities, starting in 1992 when together with Hard Rock Cafe he co-founded Isaac Tigrett founded the House of Blues, a chain of music venues, with the mission to promote African-American cultural contributions of blues music and folk art. In 2016 Aykroyd was an executive producer of the not so successful “Ghostbusters” remake. He’s recently worked n the new Ghostbusters movie,  “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, where he reprised his role of Dr. Raymond Stantz, scheduled to be release in July 2021. Personally, Aykroyd is a spiritualist, and on the subject he stated: “I am a Spiritualist, a proud wearer of the Spiritualist badge. Mediums and psychic research have gone on for many, many years …. Loads of people have seen spirits, heard a voice or felt the cold temperature. I believe that they are between here and there, that they exist between the fourth and fifth dimension, and that they visit us frequently”
