Debbie Gibson Out of the Blue
Mostly remembered for her 80’s smash bubblegum pop hits, Debbie Gibson turns 54 today. Born in Brooklyn, New York on the 31st of August 1970, she was only 17 in 1987 when she released her debut album “Out Of The Blue”, four singles from the album reached the Top 5 of the Hot 100 chart but it was the single “Foolish Beat” that set a record for Gibson, making her the youngest artist ever to write, produce, and perform a Billboard number-one single, as entered in the 1988 Guinness Book of World Records, and she remains the youngest female artist to do so. She became a worldwide sensation, two of her most memorable songs were “Electric Youth” and “Lost in Your Eyes”, that reached number 1 in the U.S charts and had a positive reception and airplay around the world. Though since the 90’s her career projection has been made mainly inside the United States, unlike what happened in the 80’s, she remains active specially doing live concerts, as an occasional actress and some reality TV, but there hasn’t been any new music produced since 2010. Look back at one of her greatest hits “Electric Youth” from 1989 and see how she’s looks like in recent years.
