The Beatles record “Love Me Do” with Ringo Starr for the first time in Abbey Road
On September 4, 1962, The Beatles made their first formal recording session at EMI Studios in London. Located in Abbey Road, this would become The Beatles recording studio and experiment lab for almost all their albums. Only “Let It Be” was not fully recorded there, they titled their 1969 album “Abbey Road”. Although they already had made a recording session at the EMI Studios earlier on June 6th of the same year still with drummer Pete Best, that session was not satisfactory, and on September 4th they returned with their new drummer Ringo Starr, among the recorded songs were “Love Me Do” and “How Do You Do It”. George Martin became their producer since the first time they step into Abbey Road and would produce every album except for “Let It Be” which he only partially produced.
