Stevie Wonder’s “I Just Called to Say I Love You” hits No.1



Despite by then having already, a 20-year-old career, it wasn’t until September 8th, 1984, that the famous hitmaker from the 60’s and 70’s Stevie Wonder had his first and only U.K No.1 with “I Just Called to Say I Love You”. Taken from the film “The Woman in Red”, it was 18 years after Wonder’s chart debut in 1966. The song, which was a worldwide hit that year became one of Stevie Wonder’s signature song remaining on the top of the charts in several countries during weeks in a row back in 1984. “I Just Called to Say I Love You” received 3 Grammy nominations in 1985, won a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for best song.
