Liam Gallagher turns 52 today

Liam Gallagher was born William John Paul Gallagher on September 21st, 1972, in Burnage, Manchester, U.K. He formed Oasis in 1991 with his brother Noel Gallagher and they released their debut “Definitely Maybe” in 1994, at the time was the fastest selling British debut album ever. The album was commercially successful and critically acclaimed. Back then Oasis was leading the Britpop movement along with Blur which sparked the famous rivalry between both bands. “Definitely Maybe” features some of Oasis best songs such as “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star”, “Live Forever”, “Supersonic” and “Cigarettes & Alcohol”. In 1995 the band release their second album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” which proved to be even more successful than its predecessor becoming the third-best selling album in British history. The album featured the worldwide hits “Roll with It”, “Wonderwall”, “Don’t Look Back in Anger”, “Some Might Say”, “Morning Glory” and “Champagne Supernova”. At the height of Oasis fame, the band became increasingly unstable and internal feud between Liam and his brother Noel led to less productive work in music, the band released though their much-anticipated 3rd album “Be Here Now” in 1997, during a period that Britpop wave was slowly vanishing. After a less successful 2000’s decade, the band broke up in 2009. Liam formed his own band Beady Eye in 2009 but disbanded in 2014. Liam released his debut solo album “As You Were” on October 6th, 2017. Recently in 2024, the Gallagher brothers announced an Oasis reunion tour for 2025, which sold out almost immediately as the tickets were put out for sale.
