“Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin, an enduring hit
The definitive anthem to positivism, “Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin became a serious case of success in 1988 for a-cappella songs, it reached No.1 in the U.S Hot 100 on September 24th, 1988, and by doing so, it became the first ever a-cappella song to make it to that competitive chart. The “instruments” in the song are entirely overdubbed voice parts and other sounds made by McFerrin, using no instruments at all. The original music video also became a success companion for the single and song stars McFerrin, Robin Williams, and Bill Irwin. “Don’t Worry Be Happy” it’s by far McFerrin’s biggest hit, or only hit, he is often regarded as a 1980’s “One Hit Wonder” despite his long and active career. He has grown critical of the song later in his career and seldom he includes it on his live concerts.
